September 26, 2024
Rotary Club of Bangkok Vibhavadi, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Udomsuk, successfully delivered 45 wheelchairs to disabled individuals and patients in the Lak Si District under the project “Wheelchairs for the Disabled and Patients in the Lak Si Community.” The wheelchairs were provided as part of a collaborative project between Rotary Districts 3523, 3350, 3360, and the Cao Zhong Zhi Foundation in Taipei.
The event, held at Kheha Toong Songhong Withaya 1 School, was made possible with the support of the school's director, Mr. Sompop Niltakoch, who personally oversaw the venue's preparations. The Lak Si District Office also played a key role, with officials facilitating the registration process for recipients. Mr. Prachuap Noi-amat, director of the district, presided over the opening ceremony, while Dr. Wutthichai Mu-sakunchai, director of Public Health Service Center 53, attended to witness the occasion.
The 45 wheelchairs were distributed to patients who came with their caregivers, as well as representatives from the local community, including the community president and committee members. These community leaders not only supported the recipients but also helped transport the wheelchairs to the homes of those in need. The event was filled with smiles, gratitude, and a shared sense of joy.
Later that afternoon, the Lak Si District Office received a message from a villager expressing gratitude. On the same day, a resident experienced a medical emergency, and the newly delivered wheelchair was instrumental in getting the patient to the hospital in time for treatment. This timely use of the wheelchair underscored the immediate impact of the donation, leaving the Rotary Clubs and community members alike with a deep sense of fulfillment and pride.
