January 8, 2024
The Rotary Club of Silom have joined hands with Rotary Club of Chiangkhong, Bangkok Vibhavadi, Bangkok Benjasiri, Bangkok Rattanakosin, and many Rotary Clubs in Japan from District 2560 in a Global Grant Project, GG#2343273, dedicated to addressing Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) through health education and improved medical facilities. The collaborative effort reached a significant milestone on January 8, 2024, with a handover ceremony at Chiang Khong Crown Prince Hospital in Chiang Rai, where 13 medical devices valued at 2,158,000 THB were donated.
Chiang Khong Hospital, a community healthcare facility catering to the needs of 65,000 people, including a marginalized ethnic minority population of 5,000, was the beneficiary of this initiative. The project team engaged in comprehensive interviews with the hospital's director, administrators, physicians, and nurses to identify their needs. The insights gained from this collaborative effort provided valuable input for the successful implementation of the project.
The handover ceremony signifies the successful culmination of a year-long project, emphasizing the power of collaboration and community service. The Rotary Clubs express their gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to Chiang Khong Hospital's capabilities, ultimately benefiting the broader community in Chiang Rai.
